The Kazakh National Space Agency, also known as Kazcosmos, is the national space agency of Kazakhstan, officially established on March 27, 2007. Kazcosmos oversees Kazakhstan's space program, which includes cosmonaut and satellite missions, and aims to develop a full-fledged space industry in the country. Key activities include the development of communication and remote sensing satellites (like the KazSat series), managing ground infrastructure, and fostering international cooperation. Kazcosmos also manages the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which is leased to Russia but remains a crucial part of Kazakhstan's space infrastructure.
