The satellite images utilized in the agreement include the operational Daichi-2 (ALOS-2) and the Daichi-4 (ALOS-4) scheduled for launch in 2024.
The radar on Daichi-2 and Daichi-4 can capture images of the ground regardless of nighttime or poor weather conditions, and can observe areas where on-site investigations are difficult.
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) successfully achieved inter-satellite optical communication at 1.8 Gbps between the H3 rocket's launched Earth observation satellite Daichi 4 and the data relay satellite JDRS-1, which will be launched in July 2024.
