The U.S. Navy engaged Kleos Space under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Division Crane for joint data experimentation using Kleos RF geolocation data.

Under the CRADA, Kleos will provide RF geolocation data for realistic test scenarios to improve maritime domain awareness for use cases including sanctions reporting, embargo monitoring, transshipment monitoring, search and rescue, resource management, fisheries control, smuggling detection, and border control.

Kleos’ KSF3 mission was originally booked with Spaceflight Inc. for a mid-2022 launch but was moved to SpaceX’s Transporter-6 and will deploy from an ISILAUNCH integrated port after Spaceflight encountered a vibration issue with their original deployment method.

Kleos will continue to sell data from its constellation through its Data-as-a-Service business while also offering Mission-as-a-Service contracts.

Kleos sent its third satellite cluster to orbit on 2025-04-01 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare mission.
