SpaceX is targeting Thursday, 2024-12-05 for the launch of the SiriusXM SXM-9 mission to geosynchronous transfer orbit.
Maxar Technologies will build the SXM-9 satellite at its manufacturing facility in Palo Alto, California.
Maxar announced the deal to build SXM-9 on its 1300 series bus in August 2021.
The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting SXM-9 previously launched CRS-26, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, O3b mPOWER, Ovzon 3, Eutelsat 36D, Turksat 6A, Maxar 2, and 10 Starlink missions.
SXM-9 was designed and manufactured by Maxar Technologies and is based on Maxar’s SSL-1300 (1300-class) satellite bus.
The Falcon 9 first stage that supported SXM-9 previously launched CRS-26, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, O3b mPOWER, Ovzon 3, Eutelsat 36D, Türksat 6A, Maxar 2, and 10 Starlink missions.
This will be the 22nd and final flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting the SpainSat NG II mission, which previously launched CRS-26, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, SES O3b mPOWER-C, Ovzon-3, Eutelsat 26D, Turksat 6A, Maxar 2, SXM-9, and 12 Starlink missions.
