The CSA allocated $44.7 million to MDA Space to purchase long lead item specialized parts for a replenishment satellite for the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM).
The Canadian government announced a $1 billion CAD RADARSAT+ initiative in October 2023 for the new RCM satellite.
The existing RCM satellites, designed and built by MDA Space, provide radar imagery that supports maritime surveillance, ecosystem monitoring, and emergency management services.
