If Cert-2 is successful, ULA expects to obtain Space Force certification and start launching national security payloads by summer.
As of October 2, 2024, a ULA Cert-2 briefing noted that ULA still expected to launch USSF-106 and USSF-87 in 2024 subject to Cert-2 performance and that the company was planning 20 launches in 2025 split roughly half-and-half between Atlas and Vulcan.
Cert-2, which would carry Sierra Space’s Dream Chaser spaceplane to the International Space Station, is planned to launch a few months after Cert-1 if the inaugural launch goes as planned.
