SATRIA will carry 150 gigabits per second of capacity using high-throughput Ka-band beams.
The seven non-replacement commercial GEO orders 2019 include three Global Xpress satellites from Inmarsat, Viasat’s Asia-Pacific ViaSat-3 satellite, PSN’s SATRIA satellite, and Space Norway’s two Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission satellites.
SATRIA is a multi-function satellite with a capacity of 150 gigabits per second using Very High Throughput Satellite (VHTS) technology in the Ka-Band frequency.
Thales Alenia Space has won three of 10 commercial satellite orders in 2019: one from Indonesian operator PSN for the broadband satellite Satria and two SpainSat NG satellites for Hisdesat to be co-built with Airbus Defence and Space.
SpaceX is lined up to launch SATRIA with a launch planned for the first semester of 2023.
PSN is working with France-based aerospace manufacturer Thales Alenia Space to begin the SATRIA satellite construction program in September 2020.
Approximately $425,000,000 (IDR 6.3 trillion), or 77.27% of SATRIA’s total investment, will be provided as a loan facility by a syndicate of international banks including HSBC, Banco Santander, and The Korean Development Bank (KDB).
Thales Alenia Space is building the SATRIA broadband satellite ordered by Indonesia in 2019.
