GPS III SV02 was encapsulated within the United Launch Alliance payload fairing at Astrotech on June 26, 2019 in preparation for launch.
The GPS III SV02 launch window was scheduled to open at 10:55 a.m. EDT on July 25, 2019 in an earlier notice and was later scheduled for liftoff on August 22, 2019 at 9:00:30 a.m. EDT (1300:30 UTC) from Space Launch Complex-37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.
The launch window for the Delta IV GPS III SV02 mission on August 22, 2019 extended from 9:00:30 a.m. EDT to 9:27:00 a.m. EDT, providing 54 discrete launch opportunities at the top and bottom of each minute during the window.
The Launch Readiness Review for the Delta IV carrying GPS III SV02 was completed on August 20, 2019 and managers signed the Launch Readiness Certificate to enter the countdown.
United Launch Alliance announced on July 17, 2019 that the GPS III SV02 launch was delayed and was now targeted for no earlier than August 22, 2019 due to a supplier component anomaly requiring replacement and retest.
As of June 26, 2017, Lockheed Martin reported GPS III SV02 was fully assembled and preparing to begin environmental testing.
On August 21, 2018, GPS III SV02 was made 'Available for Launch' after completion of testing and acceptance by the U.S. Air Force.
Lockheed Martin shipped GPS III SV02 to Cape Canaveral on March 18, 2019 by U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft for an expected July 2019 launch.
The Delta IV (4,2) mission carrying GPS III SV02 was identified as the final launch for the Delta IV (4,2) configuration.
