StriX-1 is a commercial prototype intended to expand Synspective’s business.
The StriX-1 deployment marked Rocket Lab's 150th satellite placed into orbit.
StriX-1 was deployed to orbit and the mission was declared a success for Electron's 30th launch.
Synspective will utilize its small SAR satellites StriX-α, StriX-β, and StriX-1 for the demonstration.
StriX-1 is planned for a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 561 km.
The Electron rocket’s kick stage deployed the StriX-1 satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 563 km about an hour after liftoff.
A SAR image from StriX-1 observed Venice, Italy on 2022-12-12 at around 19:30 UTC.
The SAR observation of Venice by StriX-1 was performed in Strip Map mode.
StriX-3 was manufactured based on the same conceptual design as StriX-1.
Synspective plans to launch a commercial prototype satellite named StriX-1 (Strix One) later in 2022.
Previous Synspective satellites launched on Electron missions in December 2020, February 2022, and September 2022.
