SSL is working with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center to refuel the Landsat 7 Earth-observation satellite.
Restore-L’s primary mission is to refuel Landsat 7, an Earth observation satellite launched into a sun-synchronous orbit in April 1999.
Thermal infrared data is currently rare and is provided only by a few institutional satellites such as Sentinel-3 and Landsat 7/8.
OSAM-1 is scheduled for launch in 2024 using a commercial satellite bus provided by Maxar and will rendezvous with and refuel the Landsat 7 spacecraft while demonstrating in-space robotic assembly of an antenna and a boom.
