SpaceX plans to follow the Ax-1 mission with the Ax-2 mission as soon as fall 2022.
Axiom Space plans to follow Ax-1 with Ax-2, slated for launch in early 2023 and to be commanded by former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson.
Ax-2 crew members will train with NASA, international partners, and SpaceX, which Axiom Space has contracted as the launch provider for transportation to and from the space station.
NASA signed a mission order with Axiom Space for the Ax-2 mission on 2022-08-31.
NASA has scheduled the Ax-2 mission for spring 2023 and has not yet awarded missions to Axiom Space beyond Ax-2 while evaluating proposals for two private astronaut missions.
