The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) plans to launch the Chang’e-5 near-side sample return mission on the second of two planned Long March 5 heavy-lift rocket launches in 2019.
ESA will provide ground support from Kourou, French Guiana and from Maspalomas, Spain for China’s Chang’e-5 lunar sample return mission.
CASC has developed parachutes for its human spaceflight program, the Tianwen-1 Mars rover landing, and for the 2020 Chang’e-5 and upcoming Chang’e-6 lunar sample return missions.
