Taoglas’ GPS/GALILEO patch antenna solution is to be used on the EIRSAT-1 satellite.
The EIRSAT-1 payloads require accurate orbital position measurements and therefore need a robust GPS antenna solution.
During training at ESOC, the EIRSAT-1 students performed group exercises based on real OPS-SAT scenarios.
EIRSAT-1 was built by students at University College Dublin under the guidance of ESA’s Education Office.
The EIRSAT-1 student team is preparing to operate the satellite from Mission Control at University College Dublin.
Taoglas produced custom high-performance cable assemblies for EIRSAT-1 at its Enniscorthy facility.
Taoglas supplied a GPS/GALILEO patch antenna and custom cable assemblies for Ireland's first satellite, EIRSAT-1.
University College Dublin required a robust GNSS antenna solution to reliably locate where EIRSAT-1's scientific measurements are recorded in orbit.
EIRSAT-1 was developed by a team of researchers and students at University College Dublin with support from the European Space Agency's Education Programme.
EIRSAT-1 launched on 2023-12-01 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
EIRSAT-1 successfully launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California on a SpaceX Falcon 9.
