By November 21, 2025 Kosmos-2589 and Kosmos-2590 had diverged into distinct orbits with Kosmos-2589 at approximately 20,439 x 51,189 km (period 1,437.50 minutes) and Kosmos-2590 at approximately 20,230 x 51,187 km (period 1,432.11 minutes).
By December 3, 2025 Kosmos-2589 had continued orbit corrections with reported elements near 21,633 x 49,974 km (period 1,436.96 minutes) while Kosmos-2590 was near 20,274 x 51,184 km (period 1,433.14 minutes).
On June 19, 2025 (UTC), Kosmos-2589 was launched on an Angara-A5 with a Briz-M upper stage from Plesetsk Site 35/1.
