U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) in Bengaluru leads ISRO’s component of NISAR and is providing the spacecraft bus, the launch vehicle, associated launch services, and satellite mission operations.
ISRO’s formal contribution to NISAR with the S-band radar was established in 2014 to meet India’s specific goals.
Both NISAR radar signals will be transmitted to Earth using a 12-meter-wide antenna reflector built by NASA.
The U R Rao Satellite Centre provided the spacecraft bus for the NISAR mission.
ISRO is providing the NISAR S-band payload, the spacecraft bus, and the GSLV launch vehicle.
NASA spent more than $1,000,000,000 on formulation and development of the NISAR mission.
The InSAR services will use data from satellites such as the Sentinel-1, NISAR, and TerraSAR-X constellations.
