In June, Exodus Orbitals successfully flight-tested computer code needed to run its open platform using the European Space Agency’s OPS-SAT cubesat.
The Thales researchers modified images captured by OPS-SAT’s camera and masked selected geographic areas in the satellite imagery while concealing their activities to avoid detection by ESA.
During training at ESOC, the EIRSAT-1 students performed group exercises based on real OPS-SAT scenarios.
The European Space Agency’s OPS-SAT cubesat launched in December 2019 to serve as an on-orbit testbed for advanced software-driven capabilities.
