GMV signed a contract with UAE-based Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) to supply the control center and flight dynamics system for Yahsat’s sixth satellite, Thuraya 4NGS.
Airbus is developing the Thuraya 4 (T4) satellite to serve both Yahsat’s UAE government customer and Thuraya’s customers.
The launch of the Thuraya 4 satellite expected later 2024 is expected to further expand Yahsat’s coverage and advanced services to the African continent.
Airbus is currently building the Thuraya 4 geostationary satellite for Yahsat’s mobile connectivity business.
SpaceX is due to launch Thuraya 4 2024 to enable services to begin in the second half of 2025.
Thuraya 4 (T4) is based on the Eurostar Neo platform and is due to be launched in the second half of 2024 and enter service in the second half of 2025.
