The Epsilon Unit 3 vehicle used for the ASNARO-2 mission is identified as Epsilon-3 and encapsulated the NEC-developed ASNARO-2 compact radar satellite.
On September 12, 2017, JAXA announced a planned launch of the third Epsilon launch vehicle carrying the ASNARO-2 satellite from Uchinoura Space Center on November 12, 2017 with a launch window of 06:00 through 06:35 Japan Standard Time.
On January 15, 2018, JAXA postponed the Epsilon-3 launch with ASNARO-2 aboard to no earlier than January 18, 2018 due to predicted adverse weather for the original launch day.
