Kosmos-2568 and a SpaceX Starlink 5-10 launch were en route to orbit at overlapping times on March 29, 2023, with Kosmos-2568 launching four minutes before the Starlink mission.
Kosmos-2568 stopped performing orbit corrections in early November 2024, after which its orbit decayed rapidly and it re-entered the atmosphere on January 3, 2025.
Between August 2023 and early November 2024, Kosmos-2568 performed minor thruster burns to maintain an average altitude between about 280 and 300 km.
Kosmos-2568 was tracked in a roughly 287x298 km orbit while performing station-keeping maneuvers in mid-2023.
By August 9, 2023, Kosmos-2568's orbit had decayed to roughly 287x300 km and the satellite began performing regular orbit corrections.
On August 14, 2023, Kosmos-2568 executed an orbit change that lowered its perigee and raised its apogee by roughly one kilometer.
Initial orbital insertion for Kosmos-2568 was into an orbit of approximately 329x345 km following the March 29, 2023 launch.
Kosmos-2568 was launched on March 29, 2023 at 19:57 UTC from Plesetsk Cosmodrome atop a Soyuz-2.1v launch vehicle.
Kosmos-2551, Kosmos-2555, Kosmos-2560, Kosmos-2568, Kosmos-2574 and Kosmos-2575 are earlier satellites that appear to belong to the same series as Kosmos-2577 and Kosmos-2578.
