The primary payload DS-SAR is a 360-kilogram remote-sensing satellite developed in partnership with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and ST Engineering.
DS-SAR was inserted into a Near Equatorial Orbit at 5 degrees inclination and an altitude of 535 km.
The DS-SAR satellite was developed and produced by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
Once deployed and operational, DS-SAR will support the satellite imagery requirements of various agencies within the Government of Singapore.
DS-SAR builds on IAI’s experience developing observation satellites such as OptSat and TecSAR over the past 35 years.
IAI’s DS-SAR entered orbit on 2023-07-30 and transmitted its first data to the ground station during initial testing.
ST Engineering will use DS-SAR to provide multi-modal and higher-responsiveness imagery and geospatial services to its commercial customers.

DS-SAR provides all-weather day-and-night coverage and is capable of imaging at 1 m resolution at full polarimetry.
