TENACIOUS is the first lunar micro-rover to be launched to the Moon and was designed, manufactured, and assembled in Europe with co-funding from the Luxembourg Space Agency through a European Space Agency contract under the Luxembourg National Space Programme LuxIMPULSE.
ispace EUROPE S.A. completed the flight model of its European-designed, manufactured, and assembled lunar micro rover TENACIOUS and prepared it for delivery to Japan for integration into the HAKUTO-R Mission 2 RESILIENCE lunar lander on 2024-07-25.
ispace’s Mission 2 features the RESILIENCE lunar lander and the TENACIOUS micro rover and is led by ispace Japan with a launch scheduled no earlier than mid-January 2025.
TENACIOUS will be operated by ispace-EUROPE once deployed on the lunar surface and will undertake ventures including delivering the MoonHouse payload to the lunar surface.
