The deployment of the iDirect Evolution platform in conjunction with Intelsat’s Horizons 3e satellite will enable broadband service expansion and improve connectivity for schools, government offices, municipal users, and island communities in the Philippines.
Galaxy 16, Horizons 3e, JCSAT-RA, and other similar geostationary satellites are designed with enough fuel to operate for around 15 years.
Horizons 3e is a Boeing-built C- and Ku-band satellite.
Arianespace Flight VA243 in September 2018 launched the Horizons 3e and Azerspace-2/Intelsat 38 satellites.
Horizons 3e entered service in early 2019, completing Intelsat’s Epic series of six high-throughput broadband satellites in geostationary orbit.
