TASS reported that the two satellites launched from Plesetsk in October 2022 were named Kosmos-2561 and Kosmos-2562.
Space-Track.Org classified Kosmos-2561 as having a radar cross section of "large" (more than 1 m2) as of January 9, 2023.
Kosmos-2561 carried out a series of orbit-raising burns between early November and early December 2024 that increased its mean altitude from about 405 km to about 460 km.
As of January 9, 2023, Kosmos-2561 had decayed from an initial ~407x420 km orbit to approximately a 401x413 km orbit and had not performed any recorded orbit corrections.
European radio amateurs received signals from Kosmos-2561 in the S-band at 2280 MHz as reported on January 9, 2023.
Kosmos-2561 and Kosmos-2562 were launched into higher orbits using a Volga upper stage and both performed small orbital maneuvers after deployment.
